What is Perio Protect?
Perio Protect, as a treatment approach, provides a more tactful at-home element to your or treatment plan. Concealed below the gums, inflammation-causing bacteria is difficult to reach and eliminate with common at-home treatments like brushing, flossing, and rinsing your mouth with mouthwash. However, the Perio Tray® can reach below the gums, and between your teeth, to apply the medication to the infected area.
Similar to a mouth guard, the Perio Tray® includes a special sealing system that delivers the medication below the gums. With the medication in the tray, you just wear it for minutes a day – and the medication counters the infection. The special sealing system applies the medication straight to the problem areas between the teeth and gum tissue. This seal creates pressure to keep the medication where you need it, and not anywhere else in your mouth. This way, the Perio Protect treatment is able to reach much deeper than any other non-invasive gum disease treatment. Our experts will take your mouth measurements and create a mold of your mouth for a Perio Tray® that fits your mouth perfectly.
How do I use the Perio Tray®?
Patients will use the Perio Tray ® at different frequencies and lengths of time, based on their needs and our recommendations. Patients could likely start the process for 10-15 minutes 2-3 times per day, depending on your needs. After the infection is under control, and the bleeding and inflammation have lessened, your daily usage could drop to once per day.
